360 KB: Health & Wellness Resource Center from Gale Cengage: Database Change -- October 2017
What is happening to Health & Wellness Resource Center and Health & Wellness Resource Center (with Alternative Health Module)?
The provider Gale Cengage has notified us of upcoming enhancements to Health & Wellness Resource Center. Currently in the 360 KB, there are two databases based on how the product was sold in the past: Health & Wellness Resource Center (DBID: IHW) and Health & Wellness Resource Center (with Alternative Health Module) (DBID: IHA). Moving forward, Gale will be selling Health & Wellness Resource Center as a single product and will be providing us with a new KBART update file.
In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on our Knowledgebase collection policy), Health & Wellness Resource Center (DBID: IHW) will be updated in October to include the changed title-level linking syntax for all titles in the database. Since Gale is providing us a new format type to update with, there may be more changes than normal for the database but the overall content should remain the same.
This change will take effect on October 9, 2017:
- Before October 9: find.galegroup.com
- After October 9: link.galegroup.com
Since Gale is now selling these two databases as one combined product, Health & Wellness Resource Center (with Alternative Health Module) (DBID: IHA) will be retired. In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on our Knowledgebase collection policy), all titles will be removed from the database and it will be hidden in the Knowledgebase on December 4, 2017. The database will become a zero-titles database, and no future subscriptions will be possible.
Actions you may need to take:
- Subscribe to Health & Wellness Resource Center (DBID: IHW)
- Make sure that either http://link.galegroup.com or *link.galegroup.com is included in your proxy configuration before October 9.
- If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after October 9.
