Similarly to the dates of coverage information in DOAJ for the knowledgebases, much of the metadata in CDI from DOAJ is submitted and maintained by the original publisher of each journal. This means that sometimes, relevant information may be missing or incorrect in DOAJ, and, in turn, in CDI. Unfortunately, because DOAJ is such an important source of OA information, this may also cause issues with retrieving records and linking to articles on non-DOAJ platforms (particularly EBSCO).

When problems with missing or incorrect metadata from DOAJ records is discovered, we will report these issues to DOAJ. However, DOAJ then will contact the original publisher who submitted the information to them, and the publisher will need to re-submit the corrected data to DOAJ. Depending on the size of the publisher and other factors, this may take some time, or the publisher may not agree to update it at all. This is unfortunately, outside of the control of Ex Libris or DOAJ.
