How do I implement the Gale Research Complete (UK/Europe/GRC-A) bundle in Ex Libris products?
Gale Research Complete offers academic institutions a deep well of content, including proprietary databases, award-winning eBooks, scholarly articles, and rare primary sources that enhance research, learning, and discovery at the university level and beyond.
This article is about the UK/European version of the Gale Research Complete product (also known as GRC-A).
Because Gale Research Complete is a bundle of various Gale products, it is not possible to create a single collection to make it work as expected across Ex Libris products. Because of this, libraries who have a subscription to Gale Research Complete should select/activate collections as indicated in the spreadsheet below. The spreadsheet contains all of the collections and their Alma, 360 KB, and SFX details.
The spreadsheet has been updated with an important change to include the International version of Gale Literature Criticism Online instead of the North American version. This was always the version of this collection avaiable in GRC-A, but we did not have the International version in the KBs when the spreadsheet was originally created. Please make sure that you have Gale Literature Criticism (International) selected as indicated in the spreadsheet, as the International version omits volumes prior to 2005. Using the North American version will result in some volumes' links not working as your institution does not have access to these.
Edit 2025-01-13: Book Review Index was removed from the attached spreadsheet. This collection was never a valid part of the GRC-A bundle. Please deactivate it if you had added it per the spreadsheet previously.
Gale Research Complete UK/Europe/GRC-A Ex Libris Collections list
Note on the Archives Unbound collections activation options: To make GRC activation for Archives Unbound easier, we have added a "Gale Research Complete UK/Europe/GRC-A - Archives Unbound" collection as a "one activation" option if you choose. This one activation will enable Archives Unbound content in the Central Discovery Index. However, the individual Archives Unbound collections are also included in the spreadsheet, if you prefer to activate them separately. It is recommended to use either the single "bundle" collection or the individual collections, not both, as these are likely to cause duplicate results in CDI.
Note that your library may have access to additional Archives Unbound Modules that are not part of the GRC bundle. You will need to activate those modules individually.
