IEEE
About
IEEE is a professional society and publisher of engineering and technology. Their platform, IEEE Xplore, contains journals, books, standards, conference proceedings, courses, and other content. IEEE is a frequent development partner with Ex Libris on metadata and content integrations.
Legacy Content on Xplore
Sometimes, IEEE's publishing partners' agreements with IEEE expire, and they are no longer able to offer that content for sale. When possible, they will continue to offer access to the content for those libraries that purchased access previously. Other users may not be able to see the content or may get an error page when attempting to link to the content. This does not mean that the content does not exist for other customers who purchased access previously, however.
Content no longer available to purchase on IEEE Xplore includes:
- Morgan & Claypool went out of business in late 2022. For those who had purchased Morgan & Claypool content on IEEE Xplore prior to the content being acquired by Springer Nature in late 2022, see: Availability of Morgan & Claypool Synthesis Collections via IEEE Xplore. Other institutions who did not purchase the content in post-cancellation model will not be able to see the content and may experience an error.
- SMPTE let their agreement with IEEE expire, and are primarily selling content through their platform (smpte.org). Customers who had purchased perpetual access to SMPTE content on IEEE Xplore can continue to access the content, see IEEE: SMPTE content on Xplore. Other customers who did not purchase perpetual access, or unauthenticated users, will not be able to see the content and may experience an error.
