Esploro Usage Statistics

Customers may currently provide Usage Statistics to Esploro in the following formats.  The files should be provided in Excel format.

Dspace Format

This is also known as Research Exchange.  The following format is expected from all Research Exchange customers. The Bitstream_HITS field is the statistic per year/month.  The match point used to find the research asset is the Item_URI.

This number is used for the number of accesses (hits) in Esploro per month/year, with the February 2021 release.

Generic Format

If you are not coming from Dspace/Research Exchange, then provide the statistics in the following format.  The file is expected in Excel format.

 

Field Name Notes

CREATE_DATE

in format YYYYMMDD.  For monthly statistics, use (for example) 20210201 for February 2021. Mandatory.

LIBRARYID

You may fill this in if desired, if the statistics are differentiated by library. Use the code defined in Esploro; do not use an incoming code that Esploro is not aware of.

LIBRARYUNITID

You may fill this in if desired, if the statistics are differentiated by library unit.  Use the code defined in Esploro; do not use an incoming code that Esploro is not aware of.

MATCH_ID

 Provide the item URL or the ASSETID, depending on which MATCH_ID_TYPE you choose. Mandatory.

MATCH_ID_TYPE

URL or ASSETID. Mandatory.  This can be different per record, if desired.  The file can contain both types of match IDs.

SERVICE_TYPE

metadata_view or file_request. Mandatory.  This can be different per record, if desired.  The file can contain both types of service types.

NUM_ACCESS

 This is the number of hits. Mandatory.
