    Description:
We're trying to configure Z39.50 access to an Aleph catalog resource in MetaLib. The library has provided all the necessary details (hostname:port, ip, database name, no authentication required, and the catalog link).

The yaz test gets stuck (no response after "Sent initrequest") with or without the auth line, using the URL or the IP address:

    Z> open tcp:mylibrary.edu:4820
    Connecting...OK.
    Sent initrequest.

    What should we check?

    Resolution:
The Z39.50 server port was incorrect.
The target library needed to provide this detail from their Aleph installation information.
