    Description

By default, Primo VE uses out-of-the-box Dedup and FRBR keys to automatically group similar records from Alma or external sources. In some cases, institutions may prefer to disable broad automatic grouping and instead apply Dedup only to a closed, predefined group of records. This can be achieved by configuring local keys and deactivating defaults.

    Resolution
    1. Create local keys
Define one or more local keys based on the relevant metadata to control how your selected records are matched. See detailed instructions here: Creating a Local Key
    2. Deactivate default Dedup keys
To avoid unwanted automatic grouping, turn off any default keys that are not relevant to your use case.
Go to Configuration Menu > Discovery > Other > Dedup/FRBR Complete Key Combination.
Use the toggle to deactivate and select "Apply Configuration".
    3. Test with a small record set
Run tests on a limited group of records to confirm that only the desired records are grouped.  See detailed instructions here: Testing and Applying the Complete Keys
    4. Once testing is successful, open a support ticket to request a full reindex so the new configuration is applied to all records.
