How to use the Get Author First and Last Name Non Latin Transformations for Arabic

    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: Primo February 2022 Release and above
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, TotalCare

    Description

The "Get Author First name non Latin languages" and "Get Author Last name non Latin languages" transformation routines are not working as expected for Arabic. This happens because these transformations use a comma in the field as a delimiter, and the Arabic comma is a different character from the comma used. As a result, the author field can't be parsed by the transformation.

    Resolution

For the "Author First Name" field, please configure the transformations as follows:

    • Use the "Replace string by string" transformation first, with the regular expression parameter: "،@@," for the 100 field and the 700 field.

    • Use the "Drop String (use reg. exp)" transformation second, with the parameter: "(.*،)" for 100 field and 700 field.

For the "Author Last Name" field, please configure the transformations as follows:

    • Use the "Replace string by string" transformation first, with the regular expression parameter: "،@@," for the 100 and the 700 fields.

    • Use the "Get author last name non latin language" transformation second, for 100 field and 700 field.
