Sorting search results by full publication date in blended scopes

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: 3

    Description:
In the past we got requests to allow sorting Primo Central results by full publication date (day, month, year) and not just by year of publication. This request will be answered in Primo Central from 18-March-2012.

In many cases local material is indexed with publication year only (four digit format). In Primo version 3.1.2 and earlier, in the blended result list (that includes Primo Central records together with local records) sorted by date, Primo Central records will be appear before the local records with a publication date in four digit year format. This issue is of a concern only to patrons that are using sort by date in a blended Primo Central and Primo local search scope.

There are two optional solutions for this issue:
    1) Re-pipe the relevant records with a YYYYMMDD date format
    2) Install SP 3.1.3, which will be released on 28-March-2012

Either solution will solve the known issue.
Please note that for Total care customers the solution will part of SP3.1.3.

    Resolution:
