Using the FRBR tool to find the record that create a wrong FRBR group

    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: all version, no Primo VE

    Description

The FRBR Test tool allows you to test two or more records to see if they are in the same FRBR group. If the records match, the output contains the matching keys for each record.

It could happens that you have "wrong" FRBRzed record.

    Resolution

In this case you can use the FRBR tool to compare one by one the record to find which is the record that create a sort of false transitivity.

For example you can have a FRBR group for records titled Odyssey Homer but when you look at the individual catalogue records they don't have the same author/title combination. In fact some of them are not even "The Odyssey" at all but are in fact "The Iliad"

    1. Go to The Primo BO -> Primo Utilities -> System Tests & Monitor
    2. Click FRBR test on the System Tests & Monitor page.
    3. Select Multiple – to compare two records
    4. In Record ID 1 put always the first record of the FRBR group and in Record Id 2 one by one insert the other record ids

The corrected matched records will show, for example, the following keys:

    Record 1 keys Key Hash

    odyssey~homer -4025365757414397043

    Record 2 keys Key Hash

    odyssey~homer -4025365757414397043

If you find different match, for example

    Record 1 keys Key Hash

    odyssey~homer -4025365757414397043

    Record 2 keys Key Hash

    odyssey~homer -4025365757414397043

    iliad~homer -4025365757414397043

It is possible that the second record can create a false transitivity and brings in the FRBR group records with title Iliad.
