    Question

Why is Primo's Front End slow or non-responsive and showing MaxThread errors in the Primo maxThread.log?

    Answer

This message is a notification that the automatic thread safety mechanism was turned on.

    Additional Information

Reasons for this mechanism to switch on:
    1. Momentarily high usage on the FE
    2. Stock thread on the FE server that uses resources.

This mechanism is automatic. It will block requests that repeat themselves (such as the stack thread) and free the FE resources in order to protect itself from crashing.

When it works you will experience momentarily slowness in searches.

The recommended fix is to try setting the session timeout to 15 or 20 (minutes) located in the Back Office in Advanced Configuration>General Configuration Wizard>Primo UI>Session Timeout.
