    1. Problem:
    2. Answer:
    • Product: RapidILL
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, TotalCare

    Keywords: RapidR, print, electronic, ebook

    Problem:

Your institution participates in RapidR for physical book lending (as opposed to digital book chapter lending). You are getting requests for books which you only own in an electronic format, or for print books which you believe should be lendable for book chapter lending, but not for physical book lending.

    Answer:

This is expected behavior. Currently, with RapidR, all book holdings that are set to LendableCountry or LenableInternational are also considered lendable for RapidR - including electronic book holdings.

There are two possible ways to cope with this issue:

    1. Simply cancel any loan requests you receive for whole ebooks.
    2. Set all ebook holdings to LocalOnly. This also means that you will stop receiving book chapter requests for these titles as well.
      • If you choose this option please contact support, as holdings updates with large changes might take longer than expected without support intervention.
