    Question

Why are MARC records displaying unexpected field content?

    Answer

The MARC record content is dependent on the default metadata template. If the incorrect template has been selected, it will affect all newly generated MARC records.

Also, the default template is applied to records that are either sent as result of purchase requests or through an API. For more information see Working with Record Templates.

To check if you have chosen the correct metadata template, go to Resources>Open Metadata Editor>Templates>MARC 21 Bibliographic>Shared.

Clicking on the "plus" sign next to share will reveal the list of available templates.

If you perform a search on this page, with the search terms "(default)", the default template will be revealed for inspection.

For the moment, it is not possible to set a default MARC template in Alma for Rialto orders, specifically.
