    Question

What does it mean when I get the error “MMS ID Invalid” when placing a Rialto order?

    Answer

This often happens when the associated brief bib record is removed/deleted from your Alma repository before the order could be acted upon by an approver. All Rialto cart offers automatically create a brief, suppressed bib record with a unique MMS ID value. This allows approved offers to match the purchase request information (generated at time of checkout) with the record already present in your repository. If manual action or an automated system job has deleted this brief bib, Rialto will not allow a checkout to occur.

We suggest that you try removing the item from the list and resending it back for approval.
