    Question

    What is the difference between the two extraction rules, in :

    1. Advanced Configuration > SIP Processing > Processing Definitions > Rules for Bytestream MD Extraction
    2. Advanced Configuration > Deposit > Automatic Decomposition Rule

    Answer

    1. This rule is used to decompose zips during the staging area : the files inside the zip are going through validation, but the zip is staying as zip in Permanent

    2. This rule is used to decompose zips during deposit : the files arrive in Rosetta unzip, and go through validation, ... as if they were unzipped from the stat
