Question
What’s maximum ingest rate per day in terms of terabytes assuming that a normal processing flow (no major failures) also network speed isn’t an issue?
Answer
Built on a distributed architecture that can support multiple flexible server configurations, Rosetta can scale up to manage digital collections of any size.
Ingest can be tuned in order to support massive loads, and Rosetta implements the JMS (Java Message Service) queues and threads mechanism which allows customization of processing power.
Existing Rosetta customers (e.g. national libraries), deal with terabytes (TB) or even petabytes (PB) of storage and many millions of records and with massive daily deposits.
Existing Ex Libris customers are ingesting 4TBs per day and building an infrastructure that will support ingesting of up to 10TB a day.
Higher rates can also be achieved, assuming the needed infrastructure is in place.
