Preformance when executing processes and worker level

    • Article Type: Q&A

    Question

Why reducing worker level did not change performances when executing processes such as create a thumbnail?

    Answer

Sip processing level is refereeing only to number of workers in ques that are relevant for new SIPs ingest (i.e loading, deposit, sip processing, to permanent ect.).
When increasing the level - more workers are allocated, while when decreasing the level less workers are allocated to the ingest.
Reducing number of workers frees workers to the other processes, such as maintenance job, so new ingests will not affect the job.
However, it does not affect the number of workers allocated to maintenance job.

    Additional Information

Please conact Rosetta Support to change the number of workers allocated to maintenance process if needed
