Where on the server are the customized service type icon image files located that are uploaded from the Admin via Configuration > Menu Configuration > Menu Design > Select Image?

Answer

The directory to which the new GIF images can be batch uploaded is:
/exlibris/sfx_ver/sfx4_1/<INSTANCE>/templates/img/simplified_template1/service_types_icons/custom
Once the files are in that directory, the images can be selected from the SFX Admin Select Image interface.
