Voyager to Alma Migration Query: Item Count by Location and Item Type
When migrating from Voyager to Alma, it may be desirable to check for mismatches between location and item type and resolve any obvious mismatches.
This query, which you can run using Voyager's Prepackaged Access Reports, displays what item types are found in each location, and provides a count.
Questionable combinations can then be investigated and fixed if necessary (see link to that query at bottom of this page).
SELECT LOCATION.LOCATION_NAME, ITEM_TYPE.ITEM_TYPE_NAME, Count(ITEM.ITEM_ID) AS CountOfITEM_ID
FROM (ITEM INNER JOIN ITEM_TYPE ON ITEM.ITEM_TYPE_ID = ITEM_TYPE.ITEM_TYPE_ID) INNER JOIN LOCATION ON ITEM.PERM_LOCATION = LOCATION.LOCATION_ID
GROUP BY LOCATION.LOCATION_NAME, ITEM_TYPE.ITEM_TYPE_NAME;
For other queries that may be useful, see my "Surviving Almanado" presentation's Accompanying Materials.
Posted as is. If you need assistance in running custom SQL queries in Prepackaged Access Reports, consult the Voyager Customer Listserv.
