    Problem symptoms

    • System Administration > System > Locations > highlight location > Click Delete: "This location cannot be deleted while it belongs to an acquisitions policy group"
    • System Administration > Acquisitions > Policy Definitions > [policy] > Edit > Locations > attempt to move location from Selected to Available > location does not move

    Cause

Location is in use on a ledger in Acquisitions.

    Resolution

If location is in use on active ledger:

    1. Acquisitions > Ledgers and Funds > search for and open ledger > Locations > move location from Selected to Available
    2. Save
    3. System Administration > Acquisitions > Policy Definitions > [policy] > Edit > Locations > move location from Selected to Available
    4. Save
    5. System Administration > System > Locations > highlight location > Click Delete > Confirm deletion

If location is in use on expired ledger:

Location cannot be removed from the ledger. Rename the location to indicate it should no longer be used.

    1. System Administration > System > Locations > highlight location > Click Edit
    2. Update location name.
      1. Preceding the name with zzz will file it at the end of location lists when locations are ordered alphabetically.
      2. Altering the name to something that indicates it should not be used (zzzDoNotUse-AcqDesk) also helps indicate to operators they should bypass it
    3. Save.
