BULK: Multiple MFHD rule cannot match 10-char fund code

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.1.2

    Problem Symptoms:
    * Multiple MFHD Bulk Import Rule results in mismatch when fund code in incoming record has 10 characters.

    Cause:
This behavior is the result of Issue VYG-5850.

    Resolution:
Issue VYG-5850 is resolved in Voyager 9.1.0 and higher.

    Additional Information

    Replication steps (with example)
    1. Find a fund in Acquisitions where Fund Code has 10 characters. Fund Code: TESTALLOC2
    2. Set up a Bulk Import Rule
2.a. Use Multiple MFHDs> Bibs, MFHDs, POs
    2.b. Orders > Price/Fund > Fund > Field=999 / Subfield=f / Default Code=TA1 {another fund code on same ledger}
    3. Find a bib record and add Fund Code from step 1 to field/subfield defined in step 2.
    999 _ _ |fTESTALLOC2
    4. Import record with rule from step 2.
    5. Review import log and note that fund code is not matched and has been truncated by 1 character:
TESTALLOC not a valid fund for ledger.
TESTALLOC not valid fund code; using default fund code.
    6. Review resulting PO and note that default fund is assigned to line item, rather than fund from record.
    7. Duplicate the Bulk Import Rule and set it Single MFHD > Bibs, MFHDs, POs. Do not change anything else.
    8. Repeat steps 4-6. Note that the fund code is correctly matched with this rule.

    Workaround options:
    1. Separate records with 10-character fund codes into separate file for handling prior to import.
    2. Shorten any 10-character fund codes to 9 characters or less.
    3. Use Single MFHD rule.
