Question

How is the sort order determined for WebVoyage Call Number Browse results when the Call Number Type is set as "8" ("Other") in the 852 field?

Answer

There is no special sorting scheme for "Other" type call numbers (MARC field 852, first indicator is set as "8"), like for Dewey or LC call number types. The "Other" Call Number search sorts textually.
