    Question

Can I set Courtesy Notices to apply to a specific patron group and item type?

    Answer

Notice settings are based on patron group rules in a Circulation policy definition. If you enable courtesy notices for a patron group, it will apply to all item types that patron group is allowed to borrow.

However, you can set the "Minimum Loan for Courtesy" in the matrix to be higher than the item type's standard loan period. For example, if you had these settings in matrix:

    • Settings > Loan Period = 7 days
    • Intervals > Minimum Loan for Courtesy = 100 days

The item will not circulate for 100 days by default, so the courtesy notice will not be generated unless the loan period is overridden & extended.
