    Symptoms

Diacritics entered into fields in item records such as Enum, Chron, Year, etc. display incorrectly in Cataloging and in WebVoyage

    Defect Status

Issue VYG-7818 is currently in Development

    Replication Steps

    1. In Cataloging, create a bib record, then add a holdings record, and an item
    2. In the item record, paste the text 'díl 1' in several of the fields -- for example, Enum, Chron, and Year
    3. First, note that when the text is pasted into these fields, it changes slightly (the diacritic appears to have moved next to the i instead of being over it)
    4. Check WebVoyage for this item -- you'll see a display that looks something like this:
    Status:dil dil In transit 04-12-2021
    5. Add an 866 $a to the holdings with the text 'díl1-díl 9'
    6. You'll see that in the MARC holdings data, the text saves accurately
    7. Check WebVoyage again -- because this data is being pulled from the holdings, the diacritics display correctly:
    Older Issues:    díl1-díl 9
