Currently, holdings records have an 852 subfield i before each element of the Cutter and year (example: ‡h HB871 ‡i .L56513 ‡i 2017).

Are there any system implications (normalization, sorting, etc) for moving to a single subfield i containing all Cutter elements (example: ‡h HB871 ‡i .L56513 2017)?

Answer

OPAC display, normalization, searching and sorting have the same result whether cutter & year are in separate or the same subfield i. Functionality remains essentially the same.
