How do I create an exclude file for a marcexport job?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.1.2

    Desired Outcome Goal:
To create a file of excluded locations to use for Marc Export

    Procedure:
NOTE: the exclude file must be created on the server. MarcExport cannot read the file if it's created elsewhere and copied to the server.
The following example creates a file called exclude.dat in the /m1/incoming directory.

    1. On server, navigate to the directory you'll keep the file in
    cd /m1/incoming
    2. Create the file.
    vi exclude.dat
    3. Add location codes that you wish to exclude, one code per line.
NOTE: These location codes should be
    a. Case-sensitive matches to the location codes in System Administration; and
    b. Cataloging locations - MarcExport excludes records based on the cataloging location where they were last updated.
    4. Save the file.
    :wq
