How do I format deep linking to Tomcat WebVoyage?

    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 7.0.1

    Question

How to correctly format deep links from another interface (i.e., FirstSearch) into WebVoyage?

    Answer

A number of formats will work to link into Tomcat; this format is one example:

    1. Identify your WebVoyage URL.
    2. Identify the search code you wish to link to. This code should match a search code in System Administration.
    3. Format the link with this information: http://<url>/vwebv/search?searchCode=<code>&searchType=1&page.search.search.button=Search&searchArg=

    Additional Information

    Example:

    1. WebVoyage URL =
      http://my.library.edu
    2. Search code used for ISBN: ISB3
    3. Resulting URL:
      http://my.library.edu/vwebv/search?searchCode=ISB3&searchType=1&page.search.search.button=Search&searchArg=

You can choose your indexes for ISBN, ISSN and OCLC and create those URLs accordingly. A list of available Voyager indexes is available in the System Administration User's Guide, Appendix A, and these indexes can also be viewed in the System Administration client in the Search tab.
