    Question

How do the Over Commit and Over Expend options work for Voyager ledgers and funds?

    Answer

Voyager looks at the Net Allocation for a fund, and then applies the Over Commit/Over Expend % value set for the fund to that total.  When setting the Over Commit and Over Expend %, be aware that a value of 100% means the entire Net Allocation can be spent, and anything over 100% allows the the fund to spend more than the Net Allocation.

    Additional Information

    For example:

Net Allocation is set to $20,000.00
Over Expend Limit is set to 105% (the entire allocation plus an additional 5% of that allocation can be spent)

    105% of $20,000.00 is $21,000.00
The Over Expend Limit will be triggered if an operator tries to expend > $21,000.00 in total expenditures for this fund
