Question

What is meant by "free-floating window" when referencing the Cataloging hierarchy window? Wasn't it a free-floating window before 9.2.0?

Answer

Prior to 9.2.0, the hierarchy window had to be closed prior to continuing work in the client. Selecting and opening a record from the hierarchy window would close the hierarchy window as part of that action.

In 9.2.0 and higher, the hierarchy window is independent of the client (operators will see a separate window for the hierarchy in their PC's task bar), and remains open until the operator closes it, allowing operators to retain their selections, return to the window without needing to reopen it, and continue working in the client without needing to close the window.
