    Question

A vendor is sending the ISSN without a hyphen, and Voyager will not match unless we insert one in the EDI data. Is there a setting we can change so that it will match without a hyphen?

    Answer

The way ISSNs are normalized in Voyager means that they must be formatted with a hyphen or space to find a match. An ISSN can be matched if it's formatted

    1234-5678
    1234 5678

    but not

    12345678
