    Question

What happens when Intended Location different from MFHD location?

    Answer

There is no need to have the Intended Location and mfhd location match. The location set in the MFHD 852 subfield b will display in the OPAC, and any order information (such as In the Pre-Order Process status) will display based on the line item's copy status which is linked via the Copies/Funds and MFHD_MASTER.

    Example: Location called "In Process"

    • When creating line item, use "In Process" location as Intended Location.
    • When item is received and processed, cataloger assigns the correct shelving location in the MFHD.
