    Log message "Call number normalization failure" after regen or upgrade

    Problem Symptoms

    After regen or upgrade, log shows: Call number normalization failure - mfhdid = {mfhd_id}


    MFHD 852 is not fully formed


    Check the MFHD 852 and fix any issues such as an empty subfield h in the 852. Resave the record.

    This message is informative rather than indication that the record must be updated.  It is up to local Best Practices whether or not to change/fix the MFHD.
