    Problem Symptoms

    Submit Match Job > receive message: "Mismatch between the encoding specified and the actual encoding leader byte of the source file. Unable to complete the match job."

    Cause

    Character encoding selected in "Source File Encoding" drop-down does not match source file encoding.

    Resolution

    • Select the character encoding in Source File Encoding drop-down that matches the record file.
    • If not sure of file's character encoding, try different options to find the matching character set.
