    Question

When importing records using Update previously loaded MFHDs and/or Items import rule, records don't always match and update even though there are records in the database. Why?

    Answer

Update previously loaded MFHDs and/or Items has several requirements for successful match and update:

The prerequisites for using this option are:

    • A PO and line item must have been created for the bibliographic record, either with bulk import or manually

    • A vendor reference number must be added to the PO line item in the Vendor Reference Number (see Figure 4-30), either with bulk import or manually

    • A holdings (MFHD) record must have been created for the bibliographic record for the location of the to-be-updated item or MFHD, attached to the PO

    from System Administration user's guide

All three prerequisites must be met in order for the records to match & be updated.
