Unauthorized headings report inserts character when heading is max length

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager

    Problem Symptoms:
    * Heading with max number of characters has strange character inserted before pipe separating first 255 characters and last 45 characters of the heading (in position 4).

    Cause:
This behavior is the result of VYG-4586.

    Resolution:
Issue VYG-4586 is not reproducible in Voyager 9.1.0.

    Additional Information

    Replication steps:
    1. In Cataloging, create bib with long heading. Do not create authority record for heading.
    2. Connect to server as voyager, and run catjob 3:
    cd /m1/voyager/xxxdb/sbin
    Pcatjob -j3
    {Enter dates that will capture record creation when prompted}
    3. Go to the /rpt and look at the catrprts.{LocCode}.inp and note character between pipes (in position 4) as in following example:
02|97.2|08/29/2012 - 08/30/2012|Memorandum of Understanding among the Department of Defence of Australia and the Department of Natio
nal Defence of Canada and the Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Dep
artment of Defense of t? ?? |he United States of America for the Research,|non-series title|08/30/2012|1

    Workaround:
    Option 1:
    1. Find the bib attached to heading by doing a heading search in Cataloging.
    2. Create authority record for heading.
    Option 2:
Shorten the heading in the bib.
