    Symptoms

    Right-to-left mark (200F), left-to-right embedding (202A) and Pop Directional Formatting (202C) do not validate in Cataloging

    Defect Status

    Issue VYG-6847 is currently in Development.

    Replication Steps

    1. Cataloging > Options > Preferences > Validation > uncheck box for Bypass MARC21 Character set validation
    2. Import or save record with right-to-left mark, left-to-right embedding or pop directional formatting characters
    3. Invalid MARC21 Characters message box displays showing 200F, 202A and 202C as invalid.

    Workarounds

    • CHECK the Bypass MARC21 Character set validation:

    • Or, manually update MARC21 Repertoire.cfg file with characters:

    U+200F
    U+202A
    U+202C
