VGER missing as a DSN when linking tables

Problem symptoms
VGER does not appear as a DSN option in Access > External Data > ODBC Database > Link to the Data Source > Select Data Source > Machine Data Source tab
Cause
This may occur if the ODBC installation fails to add the VGER DSN
Resolution
- Open the
C:\Voyager\Access Reports\Reports.mdb
file in Access - Click External Data > ODBC Database
- Click Link to the data source by creating a linked table
- Click Machine Data Source tab > New...
- In the pop-up Create New Data Source window, click System Data Source > Next...
- Select Microsoft ODBC for Oracle from the list of drivers
- Click Finish
- In the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle Setup pop-up window, enter the following then click OK:
Data Source Name: VGER
Description: tables
User Name: ro_xxxdb
Server: VGER
