    Question

In the ITEM_VW view in Voyager Access Reports, where are the item type fields and the location fields (i.e., the gov_item_type and gov_location fields) sourced?

    Answer

The gov_item_type fields are the item record’s current type, in other words, the temporary item type, if there is one, otherwise the permanent item type. Similarly, the gov_location fields are the item record’s temporary location, if there is one, otherwise the permanent location

    Additional Information

The gov_item_type and gov_location fields appear in many tables.  Their definitions are always the same:

    • The gov_item_type fields are the item’s current type, in other words, the temp item type, if there is one, otherwise the item type.
    • The gov_location fields are the item’s temp location, if there is one, otherwise the perm location.
