    Question

    How to set up Basic Search Limits / Post-search Filters?

    Answer

    1. /m1/voyager/xxxdb/tomcat/vwebv/context/vwebv/ui/{skin}
    2. Find limit variables in "Limit to" section of webvoyage.properties
      1. first line: declare new limit variable (with unique variable name) to be used on the next three lines
      2. second line: actual limit
      3. third line: gives order of limit in Limit to: drop-down
      4. fourth line: label the user will see
    3. Save.

    Additional Information

    Example:

    page.search.limitTo.Videos=
    page.search.limitTo.Videos.limit=MEDI=v
    page.search.limitTo.Videos.order=4
    page.search.limitTo.Videos.text=Videos

    • Limits are used for both pre- and post-search filtering.
    • After searching, users can add and remove filters at will.
