WebV: Print Record not working for all Diacritics

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.1.2

    Description:
Bug Report Form for Issue 16384-16113

    Module(s): WebVoy?ge
Server platform(s) affected: Tested on Solaris and Linux
    PC OS (if applicable): N/A
Browser & version (if applicable): All modern browsers

    Release(s) replicated in: 8.0.0, 7.0.1, 6.5.4
Last version without bug (if applicable): N/A

Expected results: To be able to print Unicode records in WebVoy?ge

Actual results: Not all Unicode symbols show up properly when using the Print function in WebVoy?ge

Workflow implications: Non-english sites will have a lot of problems with this function

    Replication steps:
    1. Import a record with lots of diacritics
    2. Load the record in WebVoy?ge
    3. Use the Print function and choose either the Brief or Full view
    4. On the resulting page, you’ll see some characters display as empty boxes rather than the proper diacritic.

Other information: Customer noticed this in Classic but the problem also happens in Tomcat

Workaround: In Tomcat, this issue can be averted by assuring that, in printBriefRecord.css and printFullRecord, the body element has “Arial Unicode MS” defined as the first font-family used (line 22).

    Resolution:
    Fixed in Voyager 8.1.2
