    Question

What does "Failed to apply bib heading change to heading_change_id: xxx for auth_id: xxxx" mean?

    Answer

This message may appear in /m1/voyager/xxxdb/rpt/catjob.log if an authority record affected by a marked global heading change is deleted after Catjob 12 is run, and before Catjob 13 is run.

    Additional Information

    Replication Steps
    1. Change an authority record - auth_id 0001 - where the 1xx is also a 5xx in a second authority - auth_id 0002
    2. Run Catjob 11
    3. Mark the change in Global Headings Change Queue (GHCQ)
    4. Run Catjob 12
    5. Alter auth_id 0002 such that the 5xx is deleted, manually updated, or the entire auth is deleted.
    6. Run Catjob 13
*This produces an error in catjob.log like:
<date> <time> Failed to apply heading change to heading_change_id: xxx for auth_id: 0002
