    Question

What does the Owning Library control in the Bulk Import Rule?

    Answer

The Owning Library will be applied to the records imported via BulkImport. If you are using a Bib Duplicate Detection Profile set to Replace, Merge or Bi-Directional Merge and the Owning Library on the Import Rule does not match the Owning Library of the matching record in the database, it will NOT see it as a match.

    That is:

    • Import Rule has Owning Library set to LibraryA
    • Record in database has Owning Library set to LibraryB
    • Duplicate detection set to Replace.

Incoming record will NOT match & replace existing record
