What happens if you run a job on the server but don't build the reports or notices in Reporter

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager

    Description:

What happens if you run a job on the server but don't build the reports or notices in Reporter and then run the job again the next day?
Are the notices or reports from the first job still in the .inp file? Does the .inp file get overwritten or does the new information just get
appended to the existing information in the .inp file?

    Resolution:

If there is an existing .inp file in the xxxdb/rpt directory, when you run another job the additional notices or reports are added to the existing
    .inp file.

You do not have to run Reporter every time you run a job.

    Additional Information:

Support recommends you run your batch jobs daily, and run Reporter to build/process the reports and notices each day the Library is open.
