    Question

When running the setup.exe file for the Voyager ODBC client installer receive errors such as:

Please wait ...unzip: cannot find any matches for wildcard specification
    "../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.4.2.14.0/1/DataFiles/*.jar".

ERROR: JRE missing in scratch path

    or:

    Error writing to directory

    C:\Users\USERNA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\OraInstall...
Please ensure that this directory is writable and has at least 45 MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue.

    Answer

    • Make sure you are logged in to the workstation with an account that has administrative privileges and run setup.exe as Administrator (e.g., right-click on setup.exe and select "Run as Administrator")
    • Make sure the ODBC client installer zip file is copied to a local folder directly under your C:\ drive.  For example: c:\ORAINST.  Unzip the file and run setup.exe from there.
    • Do not place the zip file on a network or shared drive, or on your desktop.  Do not have the zip file buried too deeply in the Windows file structure.
