    Question

Which control number prefixes in the 035 subfield a will be logged as OCLC numbers when using Pick and Scan to suppress or delete bib records?

    Answer

Control numbers in 035 subfield a with the unofficial prefixes "(ocm)", "(ocn)" and "(on)", as well as the official "(OCoLC)" prefix will be logged as OCLC numbers and written to the OclcDeletes*.txt file.  Parentheses are required as part of the MARC data.

    Additional Information

To add OCLC numbers to the OclcDeletes*.txt file, you must check the "Locally log OCLC numbers of deleted & suppressed bibliographic records" option in the Pick and Scan Logs tab.
