    Question

Who can run a keyword regen?

    Answer

When running Voyager 8.1.0 or higher, anyone can use the Voyager UTIL Menu to run automated keyword regens.

Staff who are Cert300 certified can run the keyword regen manually or use the UTIL menu.

    Additional Information

A regen of the keyword indexes does not require any down time. The OPAC remains up and available to patrons. However, no adding, updating or saving of bibliographic records can be done in Cataloging, Circulation, or Acquisitions. Item records can be charged and discharged via the Circulation client.

Estimated time to run a regen is approximately 1 second per 100 bib records.  But note that this is dependent on the server hardware and record size.
