    Question

Does Fiscal Period Close roll a ledger from last year's Fiscal Period into one that has already been created for this year's Fiscal Period?

    Answer

No.  During FPC, Voyager creates a new ledger that is an exact copy of the ledger structure of the current year's ledger, but is associated with the new Fiscal Period instead of the current one (a new ledger should not be created in Acquisitions manually by an operator prior to the FPC).  Any eligible line items that are linked to a fund in the current year's ledger will be updated by the FPC to be linked to that same fund in the new ledger created by FPC.
