    Question

Our library is using only one calendar which has a blank End Date. Using this calendar and setting a Fixed Due Date seems like the simplest solution for our circulation goals. Is this going to negatively impact our system?

    Answer

Calendars are used by the system for due date calculation. Using one open-ended vs. multiple finite calendars depends on which will best meet your needs.

    • If library hours relatively unchanging over course of year, then one open-ended calendar can be good solution.
    • If library hours change during different periods of time, may be easier to have multiple finite circulation calendars.
