360 Link: PubMed Outside Tool Instructions, Part I: Your 360 Link Results Page and PubMed
- Product: 360 Link
How can we set up 360 Link with PubMed's Outside Tool?
Although directions for setting up what PubMed refers to as their "Outside Tool" are on their website, this document provides more condensed instructions that we hope are easier to follow.
Before you can apply for access, you need to evaluate your 360 Link Results Page and make sure that you have met the minimum requirements as per PubMed. These are:
-
Link to a 360 Link Help page: Click here to see an example of another library's help page. Your 360 Link Help page is hosted by Serials Solutions and is generally displayed as a Custom Link at the bottom of the 360 Link Results page. Use the Support Portal option menu near the top of this page to request that the link be added.
-
Link to an OpenURL-supported Interlibrary Loan form or email request form: If you have ILL at your library but are not sure if it supports OpenURL, we can check for you. If you do not have an ILL form or email request, you can turn on the ILL request form in 360 Link with IEDL.
PubMed will not, under any circumstances, grant access to your library Outside Tool if these requirements are not met.
Once you have completed Part I of these instructions, proceed to Part II.
