Authority reload: dropping of z00 and other tables

    • Article Type: General

    Description:
I am unsure of the steps to load the authority records. Do I drop the pln10/z01 table? Where do I set the upd=(Y/N)?

    Resolution:
If you are reloading the authority file, then you need to do UTIL-A-17-1 for the xxx10 z00 before running p_manage_18 (or p_manage_31). You *could* do "UTIL-A-17-1 all" for xxx10 --followed by UTIL-G-3 to recreate the xxx10 z52 table-- before doing the authority load. It is not strictly necessary to do UTIL-A-17-1 for the index tables, such as z01, since each index-building job drops/creates the relevant tables. But by doing "UTIL-A-17-1 all" you can avoid the possible confusion of temporarily having an old index, out-of-sync with the new authority records. If you are only loading *additional* authority records, you, of course, do not want to do any UTIL-A-17-1 in regard to the authority UPD field.
